65-Year-Old Man Assaulted by 2 Teenagers for a Parking Space

Criminal charges were recently filed against two 17-year-old boys after they assaulted a 65-year-old man for a parking space around the 200 block of W. North Street in Carlisle. The entire assault was apparently captured on the borough's video surveillance system. Police reports indicate that one of the teenagers struck the man with a tree branch and then proceeded to hit him several times. The other teenager allegedly came up from behind and assaulted the man by throwing him on the ground and kicking him in the face. Both were charged with simple assault, which is a misdemeanor and can carry penalties of up to 2 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines. They were also charged with harassment and disorderly conduct.

If you have been arrested or charged with assault it is important that you take immediate steps to retain legal counsel. Having an experienced Reading assault attorney advocating on your behalf will considerably improve your chances of getting the charges against you dismissed or acquitted at trial. Before I established my own practice as a criminal defense attorney, I worked as an assistant district attorney with the Berks County DA's Office for about 3 years. During my time there I was able to amass a volume of knowledge and a comprehensive understanding on how the criminal court system works. I now use that expertise to help provide my clients with an all-encompassing defense strategy they can use to successfully fight the charges they face. If you are in need of legal representation in an assault case, contact me, Curtis E. Barnes, Attorney at Law so that I can review your charges and advise you of the legal options that could save you from conviction.
